1. Service Description

Maclaw Pro ("the software", "the service") is a macOS security monitoring application that detects unauthorized access to your camera, microphone, location, and network. The software runs locally on your Mac and provides real-time alerts through various channels.

2. License

Maclaw is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the following conditions:

• The copyright notice and permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the software.

3. Free vs Pro Plans

• Free: Basic camera, microphone, and location monitoring with email alerts and 7-day alert history. Free forever, no credit card required.
• Pro ($49/year): All Free features plus multi-channel alerts, unlimited history, PDF reports, network monitoring, and priority support. Includes a 30-day free trial.
• Business (Custom): All Pro features plus multi-Mac licenses, white-label branding, API access, and dedicated support. Contact us for pricing.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Maclaw only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

• Use the software to monitor devices you do not own or have explicit permission to monitor
• Use the software to violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to circumvent any security features of the software
• Distribute modified versions of the software that remove attribution or licensing notices

5. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Maclaw processes all monitoring data locally on your Mac. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.

6. Limitation of Liability

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Maclaw is a monitoring tool and does not guarantee the prevention of security breaches. It is provided as one layer in a comprehensive security strategy.

7. Subscriptions and Refunds

• Pro subscriptions are billed annually at $49/year.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period.
• We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase for Pro plans.
• Business plan refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Maclaw after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email or through the dashboard.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
